Have you ever suffered from stress?

Ever had one thought after another arise about things to arrange or observations (by others)?

Did you ever feel that it was too much going on in your head?

Mindfulness can help you in these situations.

As a life principle mindfulness means that you always pay all your attention to what you’re doing at that present moment, without judging. mindfulness is the central goal at Kirtana168.
Yoga exercises is always believed to be only for flexible people. Actually it is when there is inflexibility that exercises for flexibility is needed. For flexible people , strengthening the muscles is also needed. Yoga asanas(poses ) does both!

Yoga also Is unique compared to other exercises because it is HOW we pay attention on the breathe that calms the mind down and relxes the body, and this is the LINK with mindfulness.

MINDFUL MEDITATION, is a method that many corporations as well individuals are enhancing in their lifestyle, because it does not refer to religion ; it refers to becoming aware of our state of mind as well as emotions, such anger, jealousy, impatience and STRESS. The meditation techniques aids us to handle such a emotions in a realistic way so we can practice our daily life just more relaxed. It does not force change, change only comes through the practice of mindfulness. no rules, no religion, just practice.

Yoga classes at Kirtana teach mindfulness through linking the breathe with movement with alignment of the body. Regardless of the type of yoga you choose to practice, mindfulness is weaved in.

Depending on individual preferences, the center offers classes in three yoga styles:

Hatha

Flow vinyasa/ Power Yoga.

Core vinyasa.

Courses on Mindful meditation and Breathing.
Because hatha yoga is the in terms of pace the slowest, this form of yoga lends itself perfectly to teach the principles of linking movement to breath. Therefore beginners are recommended to start with a few hatha classes. As poses are held longer in this type of yoga, the student can more easily observe the breathing principles, while (physical) endurance (maintaining poses) is practiced as well as concentration.

For those who like a higher paced class there are vinyasa classes better known as POWER yoga. Characteristic of (flow) vinyasa yoga is a more continuous movement (changing of postures) in conjunction with the breath; vinyasa-students will often break sweats. The dimension of mindfulness in these classes should however not be overlooked. But how can you be mindful if you constantly move, you might ask yourself? Well, that’s precisely the challenge. Because you are changing your postures more, this requires your continuous focus on your breathing and this needs all your concentration.

In so-called core vinyasa classes, smooth posture changes led by your breath are key, as in flow vinyasa. However, in core vinyasa classes an additional dimension of concentration is required. Throughout the class and in all poses students are challenged to pay particular attention to their abdominal, back and pelvic muscles. These muscles are considered to be the core of the human body, since they most of all determine and define one’s posture. In core vinyasa these muscles are continuously engaged at a deeper level to promote further strengthening. Due to the continuous engagement of the ‘core’ during the various postures, body temperature increases significantly. Feel free to bring along a towel.

After the first core vinyasa class you may feel your muscles ache in places of which you never knew you had muscles there. As you will experience when you do any type of yoga, you need to gear all attention to your practice. You can not simultaneously focus on what is going on in your mind and your thoughts while being mindful of your postures and breathing. When thoughts arise, you will be asked not to linger on them, but to refocus your attention on your breath. This practice will increase your ability to concentrate. This is a great benefit in addition to the physical fitness benefits and the relief of stress both mentally and physically. Because of your awareness of your body and breath in class, you will start paying attention to them outside the classroom as well. Hence, yoga increases mindfulness!
